New York, February 21, 2026 – Legendary Panamanian artist Nando Boom, a key figure in the transition from Spanish-language reggae to reggaeton, continues to make his mark on the international scene after winning the award for Best Dembow Song at Premio Lo Nuestro 2026, alongside Natti Natasha, for his latest single “Dem Bow.”
The track was not only recognized by the industry, but also reached the No. 1 spot in the United States in January, establishing itself as one of the genre’s biggest hits so far this year. The single’s promotional campaign was led directly by Nando Boom, who embraced an independent advertising strategy to bring his music to new international audiences.
Recognized as a foundational influence in the urban movement, Billboard recently ranked Nando Boom No. 17 on its list of the greatest reggaeton artists of all time, reaffirming his historic impact and continued relevance after more than four decades of career success, chart-topping hits, and international collaborations.
The artist is currently preparing the release of his upcoming album, Nando Boom Reloaded, scheduled for May 2026, as well as a special collaboration with Rubén Blades, set to premiere soon.

ABOUT NANDO BOOM
Fernando Brown, of Jamaican descent and artistically known as Nando Boom, was born on February 14, 1970, in Panama. He is one of the pioneers of Spanish-language reggae, a style that laid the foundation for what would later evolve into reggaeton and other Latin urban rhythms.
During the 1990s, Nando Boom became an influential figure for an entire generation, with songs such as “A Danzar” and “Esa Chica Me Vacila,” which are still played in clubs across Latin America and helped popularize Latin reggae with its fast-paced, dance-driven style.
Throughout his career, he has been recognized as a key figure in the Latin urban movement, directly influencing the development of reggaeton and dembow. His legacy continues to be celebrated by contemporary artists and Latin music critics alike.
